Did you ever have something in the back of your mind, a dream, an inspiration, a secret wish on which you haven’t acted? Maybe you thought it was too outrageous, too big a dream, too far a reach, too hard a project, too much to hope for?

I think we all have these not-so-secret wishes and these all-too-convenient excuses for not acting on them. Then comes an opportune time, a helpful person, an inspiring situation and all of a sudden, we are energized to act to make our dream come true.

For me, this dream is to find my Revolutionary War Patriot, honor him or her and become a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. And the helpful people in my life are members of my family and friends in my genealogy group.

In the process, I am learning to become a better genealogist, more discerning, more careful and more appreciative of the process of researching and discovering my family history.

I will add to my blog as I learn more about my family tree and hope you will share your dreams and your discoveries as well.
